Mubadala announces financial results for first six months of 2009

We recently heard from our CEO about the announcement to the public of our financial results for the first half of 2009. This follows the release of our first-ever Annual Report earlier this year, and moving forward, we will continue to issue half-yearly results.

As Khaldoon stated, we have achieved strong results for the first half of the year. The results provide a snapshot of the business at the half-year stage and give the outside world an insight into our financial and operational progress.

Sharing this type of detailed information demonstrates our ongoing commitment to transparency, corporate governance and commercial discipline.

Instituting new policies and processes has helped us capture this information in a timely basis, and we thank everyone for their input and continued assistance as we streamline the process.

Learning and Development

Abu Dhabi Leadership Development Center delivers first course

Abu Dhabi Leadership Development Center delivers first course

The Abu Dhabi Leadership Development Center (ADLDC), the joint venture between Mubadala and GE, recently delivered their first course, “Foundations of Leadership”. Mubadala and GE employees from throughout the Middle East participated in the course together.

The goal was to teach sound leadership principles. Participants listened to lectures, practiced in small groups, completed group exercises and learned from talking with each other.

Lead Faculty for the course was Jeff Barnes, the CLO for the ADLDC, and the featured executive speaker was our COO, Waleed Al Mokarrab, who shared his thoughts on leadership traits today and in the future.

Feedback from the participants was extremely positive and we look forward to announcing more courses in the near future.

Developing relationships and sharing ideas at the INSEAD Managers Boot Camp

Developing relationships and sharing ideas at the INSEAD Managers Boot Camp

Mubadala managers from across the business participated in the Mubadala Managers’ Boot Camp at Sir Bani Yas Island in June. The week-long course is part of a 2-module program that was designed to focus on our managers’ growth as leaders at Mubadala.

The program is highly educational and encourages collaboration, as participants had an opportunity to meet colleagues from other units. Moving forward, their growth will depend partly on synergies that they have created between the various business units.

The program, which was launched in 2008, is part of Mubadala’s ongoing partnership with INSEAD, the world’s leading global business school and executive education provider.

The second module of the program is scheduled in October.

Wear the Cap Campaign

Wear the Cap

Wear the Cap

Wear your Mubadala Ferrari cap for a chance to win a trip to Melbourne for the 2010 Australian Grand Prix!

Mubadala is giving away over 20,000 Mubadala Ferrari caps to the UAE community in the lead up to the inaugural Abu Dhabi Grand Prix. Each cap has an attached leaflet to raise understanding of Mubadala’s partnership with Ferrari, and our role to act as a catalyst to diversify the Abu Dhabi economy. The Wear the Cap Campaign includes a large radio promotion encouraging people to wear their Mubadala Ferrari cap for a chance to win a trip to the 2010 Australian GP and other exclusive Ferrari prizes.

Many employees already received a cap at the Employee Launch in March, and new employees can collect their caps by emailing motorsports@mubadala.ae.

More information can be found on the Mubadala Motorsports website www.mubadala.ae/motorsports/wear-the-cap.
